Dungeons are basically rifts but with literal extra steps and which they will change soon so you don’t have to walk to the dungeons every time. The abilities are almost the same as D3 but with that skill twig attached to it that doesn’t provide extra depth though. And in a lot of ways it reminded me of D3 but with unnecessary extra steps. I played D4 act 1 extensively during the open beta weekend to see the available content and gameplay functionalities. AU$110 is a bit steep for this campaign experience… it’s not like it’s Ghost Recon Wildlands where you can look all around and be in awe at how big an open world you’re in.
I still haven’t bought D4 as I felt quite a lot of the QoL features we’re now use to wasn’t there and for me, open world games and the dungeons system lends itself to a single player experience better (the fact that people complained about the travel time to dungeons, forcing the devs to implement instant dungeon travel proved this point).
